Jura machines are built to last. If properly maintained, Jura coffee machines should last 15 years or longer. Jura's are Swiss engineered and will last at least 25,000 cup cycles. However, your machine will eventually require repair when an error message appears on the display panel. For example, the brew group may become sluggish (Error 8) or your coffee may not be as strong as it once was, indicating the brew group needs to be serviced and grinding burrs may need to be replaced. These are unavoidable maintenance issues, regardless of the amount of cleaning and descaling cycles you run. We provide manufacturer level service to restore your Jura to its peak performance... giving you the superior cup of coffee crème that you remember so well!
Does your Jura display:
- "ERROR CODE 8"
- "ERROR CODE FILL SYSTEM"
- "ERROR CODE FILL BEAN"
These are the most common out of 20 others that will automatically shut down your coffee machine. They are designed-in safety codes meant to protect the machine from costly damage. If your display shows ANY error message, do not try to bypass the system... IT NEEDS SERVICE!
Here's the process... Contact Jura Pros to discuss your Jura and next steps to get your machine operational again. If you have an error code, here are examples of what may need to be replaced or refurbished:
Brew Group Refurbishing
- Over time, brew group O-rings and seals will swell, dry or crack, which prohibits the brew group from returning to the home position or creating an air tight seal to build the proper amount of pressure to brew.
- If the brew group fails to return to the home position, or is unable to begin the brew process, an "ERROR 8" message will appear.
- We fully disassemble the brew group to clean and sanitize the components, lubricate appropriate moving parts and replace every O-ring and seal.
Grinder Maintenance
- Excess coffee grounds can compact in the grinder, preventing the optimal amount of coffee from entering the Brew Group.
- After years of use, burrs will dull. The result is weak, flavorless coffee.
- Both examples can cause the display panel to read "ERROR CODE FILL BEAN".
- We disassemble the grinder to clear out all the excess coffee, replace burrs (if needed) and lubricate the O-ring seal, then recalibrate the calipers.
Water Circuit Maintenance
- All water contains various minerals, which accumulate over time, causing blockages and O-rings to harden.
- We visually check every PTFE hose for leaks, remove deposits and remove debris blockage.
- We check the membrane pressure regulator and overflow check valves and replace, if necessary. Finally, we replace and lubricate every O-ring in the water circuit.
- The display panel will read "ERROR CODE FILL SYSTEM".
Descaling and Cleaning
- The final phase of our service involves descaling and cleaning the machine to ensure the coffee and steam thermoblocks are not clogged.
- Also, we clean the interior and exterior of the machine.
- We remove the coffee dispensing spout to clean and sanitize it because excess coffee grounds accumulate there, as well as the brew group.
- Moisture plus coffee grounds create the perfect environment for bacteria and mold growth.
